E & M Tie Line Overview
The E & M in E & M tie lines refers to Ear and Mouth, and the Tie in tie lines stands for terminal
interface equipment.
E & M tie line connections are special circuits that allow, on a dial-up or continuous connection
(hot line) basis, an FX or DXP system to connect with remotely located equipment such as
another FX or DXP.
Simply put, E& M tie lines are point-to-point circuits used to connect two Comdial systems
together.
